I began carving bison after camping at "Elk Island", in Alberta. Elk Island is a park and buffalo preserve where the authorities allow camping with the animals. Every evening, my daughter and I would drive along the roads and integrate our vehicle into the herd. I was impressed by the strength and movement of the animal.
