1.   The pattern for the breaching dolphin was originally designed for a piece of stone 7 1/2 inches by 3.5 inches by 2 inches. For a smaller or larger piece of stone change the pattern proportionally. After cutting out your pattern, Place it on the stone and trace around it with a pencil or marker. When placing the pattern on the stone, the grain should be oriented along the length of the Breaching Dolphin.

 

2. . I have used a bandsaw to cut out the majority form of the this breaching dolphin. I use a 1/4 inch skip tooth blade.

 

 
 

3.  After marking the center line on the stone, mark where the narrowest part of the dolphin's body will be.
